Gharb Basin

The Gharb basin generally contains dry gas (99% methane), which makes the discoveries easy to exploit and commercialize. Easy access by drilling, a high recovery factor and proximity to existing pipelines keep activity economical. In 2025, the produced natural gas was delivered to the client in the Kenitra Industrial Acceleration Zone.

MOROCCO POTENTIAL

The Essaouira Basin

One of the country’s most promising areas, Essaouira holds the largest confirmed hydrocarbon potential — led by the Meskala gas-condensate field. A 3D seismic survey identified new prospects and blocks for future drilling. Produced gas and condensate are delivered to the OCP mining center in Youssoufia to power its phosphate drying and calcination units.

Morocco Potential

The Gharb Basin

One of Morocco’s most active regions for natural gas exploitation. The existing pipeline network links producing areas to customers over a distance of around 280 km, composed mainly of:

Gas pipeline connecting KSR collecting station and Douar Jaber station — 9 km

Gas pipeline linking Douar Jaber station to the CMCP factory — 58 km

Gas pipeline linking Douar Jaber to the rest of Kenitra’s clients — 55 km

Several pipes connecting producing wells to the Ksiri, KSR 10 and Douar Jaber stations

At the customers’ plants, expansion stations raise the gas to the working pressure required for continuous operation.

The Essaouira Basin

An important pipeline network connects the Meskala Unit to OCP facilities in Youssoufia, composed of:

Gas pipeline — 2 km — connecting the MKL treatment unit to the J-3 junction

Gas pipeline — 23 km — connecting the J-3 junction to the Korimat skid

Gas pipeline — 7 km — connecting J-1 junction to the OCP calcination & drying units

Gas pipeline — 125 km — connecting the Korimat skid to the J-1 junction
On arrival at the OCP plant, an expansion station brings the gas to client pressure. Condensate collected at the Meskala unit is stored in tanks, then trucked to OCP Youssoufia.
